At the end of last year I delivered a fabulous body of work to newly refurbished Royal Lancaster Hotel, Lancaster Gate, London. Recently re designed and re branded by Studio Proof the hotel now has a 'sophisticated and restrained' mid-century modern look. I can't wait to see more photos of the work in situ.

In the heart of Canterbury is the wonderfully curious Art Gallery, Museum & Library - The Beaney. The permanent collection spans Ancient Egyptian and Greek artefacts, objects from the East Kent area to around the world, birds and butterflies, stain glass, paintings and drawings. These fascinating collections are beautifully displayed following the careful refurbishment of this historic building and its galleries. A wonderful collection of curiosities and beautifully displayed.
Oliver Heath is a leading figure in biophilic design, sustainable architectural and interior design focused on improving health and well being in the built environment. I was very pleased to be asked to loan some of my glassware to dress out his set at the 2015 Sleep Event. Room 5: Into the woods and far away -
“Forests are often portrayed as magical places where incredible things happen to our heroes and heroines. In today's ever connected, urbanised society the same is still true - an improved connection with nature has been demonstrated to reduce stress levels.”

As I snuggle up on the sofa in layers of clothes it seemed appropriate to have the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson as this months post:
"Announced by all the trumpets of the sky,
Arrives the snow, and, driving o'er the fields,
Seems nowhere to alight: the withered air
Hides hills and woods, the river, and the heaven,
And veils the farm-house at the garden's end.
The sled and traveler stopped, the courier's feet
Delayed, all friends shut out, and housemates sit
Around the radiant fireplace, enclosed
In a tumultuous privacy of storm."
- Ralph Waldo Emerson
This festive season the clear crisp weather on the Kent coast treated us to these beautiful scenes. The hoar frost on the shingle was magical.
